The field of food and livestock production is more and more facing criticism for being a major contributor to environmental issues like global warming. The FAO report “Livestock’s long shadow” estimates, that 18% of the global CO2 emissions are derived from agricultural production. Any measure, which makes livestock production more efficient, which increases health of animal and which reduces the effect of undesired substances like mycotoxins, helps to reduce the CO2 balance of feed and food production. According to the cradle to gate to grave model, ERBER GROUP sees its contribution to carbon reduction in optimized crop production, feed manufacturing, livestock production and in the animal health sector.
During the in-house production processes of the subsidiary companies of ERBER GROUP, the use of biomass plays a prominent role. The demand on energy is covered by up to 80% out of renewable sources such as biomass.
